About Bryn, formerly “The Chemist”

You can take the chemist out of the lab, but you can’t take the lab out of the chemist.

Graduate school was a great (stressful!) way for me to realize that a laboratory-based existence was not in my permanent future, but it didn’t take too long in an office setting for the urge to experiment on something to come back. Thankfully, the kitchen is a much safer place to experiment, most of the time….

This blog is a place for the food that comes out of a highly-restrictive kitchen (see the allergy list below), experimental or otherwise. It’s also a place for the other experiments in health, wellness, homemade beauty products, and daily adventures that happen along the way.

The allergy list of doom:

Me

  • milk in all forms (from all appropriate-for-milking animals)
  • gluten

The Girl

  • peanuts and all other legumes
  • treenuts
  • shellfish
  • strawberries
  • melon
  • eggs

Our kitchen is completely free of peanuts, treenuts, and shellfish. Other sensitivities to kale, chocolate, mango, and many yet-to-be-discovered foods also exist. (We’re real fun at parties.)

  1. Wow, I think you get the prize for most specific sensitivities of anyone I know! (Not that I know you.) I’m curious to see what you come up with, so I’m now going to “follow” you, even though most days I do not have much time for blog reading!
